What’s in a name?

Just reflecting on software naming and it strikes me that a lot of software companies need to start hiring marketing agencies that work in defence. Or possibly poaching staff directly out of companies that build military hardware… Let’s be honest “Storm Shadow” or “F-14 Tomcat” just make the (often made up) names of many software…

Just reflecting on software naming and it strikes me that a lot of software companies need to start hiring marketing agencies that work in defence. Or possibly poaching staff directly out of companies that build military hardware…

Let’s be honest “Storm Shadow” or “F-14 Tomcat” just make the (often made up) names of many software products look somewhat pathetic and unimaginative. Ironically though, a few (so called) “SaaS” products that I have had the recent misfortune of looking at could quite easily do more damage to their target users than even the stealthy SR-71 Blackbird.

Just a thought on a Sunday afternoon 😉
